October 2013 - NCCCO reprised its popular Lift Safety Zone (LSZ) as part of its largest presence ever at the 2013 International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE), held October 1-3 in Louisville, KY, and attended by more than 17,500 utility industry representatives.
The LSZ featured live demonstrations of the CCO practical exams designed specifically to meet the needs of the utility industry, including the Digger Derrick Operator, Articulating Crane Operator, and new Service Truck Operator certification programs, as well as those for Rigger Level I and Level II certifications. Written, recertification, and practical CCO exams were also offered; with NCCCO’s onsite scoring system, attendees were able to “Visit ICUEE, Leave Certified.”
“Over the last several years, demand for CCO certification has broadened significantly, and NCCCO has responded to industry requests by developing certification programs for cranes used specifically by the utility industry,” said Joel Oliva, NCCCO Manager for Test Development and Administration. “ICUEE provided an outstanding opportunity for the industry to see these certification programs up close and even try out the test courses for themselves.”
